Abdul Azeez To Be Charged with 37 more charges ?
Former Tabung Haji chairman
Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim was charged with 12 counts of graft
amounting to RM5.2mil and money laundering totaling RM139.4mil over the
procurement of government contracts in January of this year – 5 months later
and 51 charges less than what he was supposed to.
The Malaysian public was already perplexed that Abdul Azeez, known
as the money bag man of Najib Razak, the former Malaysian Prime Minister had
been charged very late in the day and few charges. Investigations into Azeez
had largely been completed by October last year and about 62 offences were
identified against him. He was supposed
to be charged in early November but got away with the help of a very powerfully
connected Mr X. In fact, it is known in
the circles that it was because of this Mr X that Azeez escaped being charged
with a greater number of charges.
However, due to Azeez’s over confidence and his own direct
dealings with some of the prosecution team and the Malaysian Corruption Agency,
it has made many uncomfortable for their own job safety. Hence, this in turn
will lead to Azeez’s original number of charges coming back to haunt him.
